Is the Influish Doomscroller Job Real? What Our Desk Checked
By Influish Editorial Team · Published · Last updated
Short answer
Disclosure: this site is published by Influish. We applied the same checks and stamps to this story that we use for every other case file, and we report the gaps as plainly as the confirmations.
Check 1: Is the story reported by more than one credible outlet?
Passed We opened every article in the shared source registry (last verified 6 November 2026). Nine loaded and were checked: India Today (India Today), Asianet Newsable (Asianet Newsable), Dainik Bhaskar Digital (Dainik Bhaskar Digital (English)), NKTV, Asianet News Hindi, Salam Hindustan, The Printlines, Asianet News Marathi and Times Kerala. All nine agree that the company is Influish, that it is described as based in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and that the role involves watching Reels and reporting trends. A Moneycontrol article appears in news indexes, but its page refused access, so we took no claims from it.
Check 2: Do the reports agree on the details?
Mostly The core facts are consistent: a video posted on 4 November 2026; the first step of commenting “Hi”; a DM link for Udaipur-based candidates; a hiring form linked in the @gangsofstartup bio; and a company-reported figure of more than 11,000 form requests. Where they diverge, we flag it:
- Who is in the video. Only two Hindi outlets, Salam Hindustan (Salam Hindustan) and The Printlines (The Printlines (Bharat Express News Network)), name Sankalp Nag. Other outlets describe an unnamed representative. influish.com confirms Sankalp Nag is founder and CEO, but nothing we found confirms he is the person in the video.
- Full-time or internship. India Today calls it full-time; six reports say the form offers a choice of full-time or internship.
- “Applied” vs “requested the form”. Two headlines say 11,000+ “applied”; the article bodies say they requested the form.
Check 3: Does the company exist and run its own website?
Passed We opened influish.com on 6 November 2026. It is live, describes a creator platform built around Instagram auto-DMs, names Sankalp Nag (Founder & CEO), Tushar Jain (CTO) and Shivani Rajora (Marketing & Growth), and lists a support email on its own domain. It does not give a city or street address.
Check 4: Is the job on the company’s own website?
Not found The homepage does not mention “doomscroller”. Its careers page loaded, but its open-roles list did not populate for our checker, and we saw no doomscroller listing. This is a gap, not evidence of fakery: the role was announced on Instagram, not on the website.
Check 5: Is the Instagram account really the company’s?
Passed According to the shared fact-check record, the @gangsofstartup account (“The Viral Startup Office”) states “Startup name – INFLUISH” in its bio and links a Google Form labelled “Hiring Form”. The bio does not say that form is specifically for the doomscroller role. We deliberately don’t link the form here: apply, if at all, only from the account itself.
Check 6: Is there an official doomscroller page?
Not live We also checked doomscroller.influish.com, a subdomain on the company’s own domain that would be the natural home for an official page. On 6 November 2026 that hostname did not resolve in DNS — there was no website there at all. Any page claiming to be it should be treated with caution until it is live on the company’s own domain.
We do not link to an application form: when we last checked (6 November 2026), no official Influish page for this opportunity was live. If an official page goes live, we will link it here clearly labelled. Until then, treat any “apply here” link from an unofficial source with caution.
Check 7: Is anyone being asked to pay?
No fee reported None of the nine reports mentions any fee. The reported form asks for contact details, a resume and current and expected salary — normal hiring information. If anyone asks you to pay to be considered for this or any similar role, it is not part of the reported process.
