Doomscroller Jobs in India Compared: Monk Entertainment vs Influish (and a Dropz Listing)
By Influish Editorial Team · Published · Last updated
Short answer
Two Indian “doomscroller” postings are verifiable: Monk Entertainment’s in Mumbai (August 2025, historic) and Influish’s in Udaipur (November 2026, status undisclosed). They asked for different things and used different application routes — Monk-E’s six-hour screen-time rule does not apply to Influish. A third listing attributed to Dropz could not be verified. Neither verified post published a salary.
Why compare them at all?
Search for “doomscroller job” and results from both stories appear side by side, often without dates. That leads people to apply Monk-E’s criteria to Influish, or to think a 2025 opening is still live. Laying them out together, with dates and sources, is the quickest way to stop that confusion.

What did Monk Entertainment ask for?
According to Storyboard18 (25 August 2025), Monk-E — the media and talent management company co-founded by Ranveer Allahbadia — wanted people who already spend more than six hours a day on Instagram and YouTube and could prove it with screenshots, who follow creator culture closely, are fluent in English and Hindi, and are comfortable with basic spreadsheets. Applicants were to email with “doomscroller” in the subject line and were told not to use AI tools to write it. Gulf News quoted co-founder and CEO Viraj Sheth describing the pay as “very competitive”, without a figure.
What did Influish ask for?
Far less is on record. India Today (India Today) and NKTV (NKTV) describe a video in which company staff say they want to pay someone to watch Reels and report trends. No requirements for hours, languages, age or education were published in any report we verified. The reported application form asks for basic details, a full-time or internship preference, current and expected salary, and (in most reports) a resume. Our Influish verification walkthrough sets out exactly what we checked.
We do not link to an application form: when we last checked (6 November 2026), no official Influish page for this opportunity was live. If an official page goes live, we will link it here clearly labelled. Until then, treat any “apply here” link from an unofficial source with caution.
What about the Dropz listing?
A “Social Trends Analyst” listing that uses the doomscroller label and is attributed to Dropz shows up in search results on the foundit job board. Our checker received an access error when opening it, and we found no news report about it. Until it can be opened and matched to the company’s own channels, we stamp it unverified and take no details from it.
What do the two verified posts have in common?
Both came from companies whose business depends on social media and creators.
Both framed watching as research: noticing and reporting trends, not just consuming.
Neither published a salary figure.
Both went viral partly because the job title itself was the story.
How do I check a new “doomscroller” offer that is not on this list?
Treat it like any other viral job post until it checks out. Look for the role on the employer’s own website or official account. Check the company in MCA master data. Make sure nobody asks you for money or an OTP. Our eight-step method to verify a job offer walks through each check, and the Influish verification walkthrough shows the same steps on a real case. Frequently asked questions
How many companies in India have advertised doomscroller jobs?
We could verify two through news reports: Monk Entertainment in Mumbai (August 2025) and Influish in Udaipur (November 2026). A third listing attributed to Dropz appears on a job board, but we could not load it, so it remains unverified.
Does the Influish doomscroller job require six hours of screen time?
No report we verified says so. The six-hours-a-day requirement with screenshot proof belongs to Monk Entertainment’s 2025 posting, as reported by Storyboard18 and Gulf News.
Is the Monk Entertainment doomscroller job still open?
We found no evidence that it is open in November 2026. It was reported in August 2025 and should be treated as a historic posting.
